Book your personalised day with our experienced and friendly tutors, tailored to your own learning requirements. Choose whether to add a specific technique to your skill set, gain a foundation of fusing knowledge, or learn how to set up your own workshops.

Duration: 1 Day Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm (6 hours)

Class Description:

Below is a list of suggested techniques. We can usually cover one or two techniques in a day (if you choose one, we can go into more depth on that subject). One of our experienced tutors will guide you through project-based workshops in your chosen areas. Teachers:

Depending on the techniques covered, your teacher will be: Claire Hall (professional glass artist), or Megan O’Hara (Warm Glass Studio Coordinator who has trained at Bullseye Glass in Oregon). 

What to Prepare:

  • Please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes.
  • Please bring a packed lunch, or alternatively there are shops and a pub serving lunches within walking distance of the studio.
  • All materials are included and all the necessary tools are provided.
  • This class will be tailored to your experience.
  • Information on your booking will be e-mailed to you prior to the course date.
  • We restrict the class size to 2 people (one booking).
  • We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90).

Coronavirus Information:

  • If you have any symptoms of Covid-19, please do not attend the class (we will arrange an alternative date with you in this case).
  • If you or a member of your household has tested positive for Covid-19 in the preceding 14 days, do not attend the class (we will arrange an alternative date with you in this case).
  • Please take a lateral flow test (LFT) before travelling. Do not attend if it is positive (we will arrange an alternative date with you in this case).
  • Our staff will be wearing masks during your visit, please do the same if you are able.
  • All our studio staff are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
  • All our staff take regular lateral flow tests.
  • We provide hand sanitiser and disposable masks at the studio.
  • Our studio is well ventilated and the surfaces are cleaned regularly.

Cancellation Policy:

If your cancellation is more than 28 days before the class, a 90% refund will be applied. For cancellations up to 7 days in advance, a 50% refund will be given. After this date, we are unable to offer any refunds. If Warm Glass cancel the class for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

Covid-19 Policy: If you cannot attend your chosen date due to Covid-19, we will arrange a suitable alternative date with you without extra charge. We will be following Government guidelines and will respond to any official advice provided. You will be notified as soon as possible in the event of any cancellations of Personal Studio Days, which will be refunded in full if we are forced to cancel (or rescheduled if you prefer).

Fundamentals for Beginners

Covering all the basics including tools, basic techniques and firing schedules.

Images in Glass

Learn how to use decals, powders and enamels to create images in glass.

Landscapes and Seascapes

Using frits and powders to create figurative landscapes and seascapes in glass

Using Inclusions

Incorporate metals micas Glassline papers with appropriate firing schedules.

Using Frit and Powders

Powder printing, using frits for creating texture, frit balls, controlled bubbles, stencils.

Incorporating Glassline and enamel products

Try your hand at painting and lettering with glassline enamels, layering images for depth.

Harnessing Reactions

Using the reactive potential of Bullseye glass. Glass reactions and with metal reactions to create special effects.

Learning to Teach Glass Fusing

Advice on setting up your studio for teaching others. Creating suitable samples and projects for your students.

Dichroic Glass

The best techniques for dichroic glass for jewellery making and larger pieces.

Slumping and Forming

Understanding slumping schedules and the principles of forming glass. Discussing techniques like drop outs and unique shapes.

Kiln Carving

Creating texture in your fused glass using the kiln carving technique.

Please note that this class is taught in our new studio in Wrington, near Bristol, UK, and is not an online class.

Our new studio is in the centre of Wrington village (not at the same address as the main Warm Glass warehouses). The studio address is:
