Make your work stand out with this vivid Rhubarb Shift Tint Billet!
Each Bullseye billet is approximately 127 x 254 x 19mm and weighs about 1.6kg. The three stacked billets in the picture demonstrate the increase in colour saturation with thickness.
In kiln casting, the form and particle size of the glass selected can strongly influence the appearance of the finished piece. For maximum clarity, the rule of thumb is to use the largest and thickest forms of glass. Smaller glass particles increase obscurity due to air trapped between the pieces.
Contains:
Selenium
May react with:
Copper, Lead, Silver
Cold Characteristics:
Consistent Colour
Working Notes:
Hues of shift colours change depending on the light source (natural, incandescent, LED or fluorescent) and sometimes thickness, regardless of whether they have been fired or not
Other:
Finished work will have the same colour shift properties found in the cold glass. When used in small amounts, the shift between green and pink in this rare earth glass is subtle. The colour shift becomes more dramatic in thicker applications and depends on the light source. In mixed types of light it appears to be brown.
Please note the weights of the billets can very quite a lot so we recommend that you over-compensate if you need a specific weight.
All our glass is COE90, Bullseye Glass compatible and suitable for applications such as glass fusing, glass casting and glass slumping (unless otherwise stated in the description).
