This is a candy-apple red, with less of a pink shade than Garnet Red Transparent. It is a consistent shade which matures to its target colour on firing.
Please note this colour is a striker.
Rods can be used in torchworking and kilnforming, and add an exciting difference to glass work! Drawn from compatible Bullseye glass, each rod is approximately 42cm long and 4-6mm in diameter.
This colour is a striker.
Contains:
Selenium, Sulphur
May React With:
Copper, Lead, Silver
Cold Characteristics:
Candy apple red with slight variance in transparency.
Working Notes:
Torch: Consistent colour. Keep this glass transparent by using it in small amounts with minimal heatwork, or adding it towards the end of the time in the flame. We advise labelling all striking glasses.
Kiln: A cadmium/selenium glass. Generally fires deeper (more red) than cold. This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for a extended periods.
