A rich, soft brown lighter than Umber and Woodland Opals, which maintains its colour after full firing. This colour is perfect for those who want a warm and sweet brown which accurately fulfils its name.
Contains:
Selenium, Sulphur
May react with:
Copper, Lead, Silver
Cold characteristics:
This colour is a striker. Can appear translucent, so the unfired colour may appear different to the image. Slight small mottle and orange-peel texture.
Working notes:
Becomes opaque on firing. At full fuse and capped with clear glass, the mottling usually remains. When fired uncapped, the mottling is less obvious and the colour evens out to become more consistent.
This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for an extended period.
