Fusing hooks

I recently ran a glass fusing workshop where students created earrings using your fusing hooks which were particularly successful as just the right thickness. Did not give 5 stars as outrageously expensive

Five stars because these fire to blackened colour without the nasty scaling you get with copper wire. But drop a star for being so expensive. If you a financially challenged buy a reel of nichrome wire and make your own. Another advantage of the DIY route is that you can use any gauge and any loop size you want.

It seems a little expensive to buy these pre-shaped hooks, but the glass retains its shape around the hook so much better than my hand-made copper loops. For smaller projects, I cut the hooks in half and re-shape. This works really well and the hooks go that bit further!
