Product Information

The Firebox 8 is a side firing kiln, with the elements in all four walls for an even firing.  The lid itself is a lightweight brick construction coated with refractory cement. It has a cool-touch handle. The chamber is also made from lightweight brick, which is used because it is able to expand and contract as the kiln heats and cools. It also helps reduce the overall weight of the kiln. The whole kiln is set on sturdy metal feet.

The kiln comes with a 2-year warranty.

I bought this kiln as a tester kiln to sit alongside its big brother the Firebox14. Its a super little kiln and quicker to fire and cool, with the bonus of have the same controller.

Its given me extra capacity but more important for me, flexibility to fire at different temperatures in smaller batches in the middle of a larger firing run.

The information videos on how to change the settings are fantastic too, much easier to understand than the manual.

Its also a great peace of mind to know that the Warmglass team are available to talk to with any technical issues. I would not dream of buying a kiln from anywhere else now.

The elements in the side also give a nice even firing. Its also very sturdy but light enough to take with me when teaching residential workshops,

This is a fantastic starter kiln and I could not recommend it more highly for its ease of use, reliable results and compact size.

Thank you Warmglass

My son bought me this kiln for Christmas, up until now I had been using a microwave kiln which has obvious limitations. For jewellery makers this kiln is ideal and soooo easy to use with easy to follow instructions for beginners like me. The auto function with fast full fuse allows beginners to make lovely pieces without the worry of having to judge times by themselves while the Pro function allows the more experienced the flexibility to create their own firing times. I love this kiln which has quickly become the star of my craft room. For those who are considering buying it I would just say 'don't delay any further, order it. You'll be glad that you did.

After a lot of thinking I bought this kiln to get me started in glass rather than wait and get a bigger one. It is incredibly easy to use on the auto programmes and even accessing the pre-stored casting programme was fairly simple. It is ideal for Bullseye glass, but I haven't yet started tweaking the temperatures to get better results from float glass, which seems to end up with a strong tack fuse instead of a full fuse. The main drawback is size, but that was known about and is more than compensated for by ease of use.

This is my first kiln and I love it. I was a little concerned about it being the lowest cost kiln (you pay for what you get kinda thing) but it was the only one we could afford. Since getting it, it is permanently on, the only thing that would make me trade this kiln would be for a bigger one and even then, it would take a lot of convincing!!!
