Product Information

Each firing creates six square beads, six round beads, and two cabochons. The beads are small, each measuring about 5/8 inch (15mm) in diameter.

Because of the mould’s engineering, the beads almost never require any cold work - grinding or polishing.  They can be strung on leather or a silver chain to make a beautiful necklace.

All our moulds are designed for multiple use and with care should last for many firings.

Dimensions

Mould dimensions: 11.5 x 18 x 2.5 cm.

The fill weight for each of the six squares is 2-3 grams.

For the circles; 1-2 grams

For the two cabochons; 1 gram.

Please note that all our moulds are hand-made and therefore the dimensions may vary slightly from those shown. Mould manufacturers allow a tolerance of up to 2cm. We strongly recommend cutting the glass to the size measured from the actual mould rather than relying solely on the dimensions shown.

Firing Schedule

This made some lovly beads, a couple were not as shiny on back as front, but I think that is my technique ! I love the sizes and uniformity of the beads

I tried using this mould with Boron nitride and then with Primo Primer. Boron nitride gave a slightly smoother finish but there wasn't much in it. The recommended firing schedule worked really well.
