Simply mix the alginate powder with water at the recommended ratio for either a pourable or a paste consistency. Totally non-toxic so can be applied by hand and onto skin.

Not sure if I can use this mold in the kiln or whether I need to make a plaster mold from it and use that?....???

WARM GLASS UK - Alginate is an impression material, used for taking impressions of things like hands and faces (it's used by dentists for making tooth and gum impressions). Plaster must be poured into the alginate to make a 'positive' of the impression, or wax can be poured into the alginate in preparation for a lost wax casting. Alginate cannot be used in the kiln.
