Product Information

The heart in the image was made using Red Transparent Fine Frit 1122.01, but other colours such as Erbium Pink Tint (1821.01) and Aqua Blue Tint (1808.01) would also work very nicely.

Bullseye Code: 8976

All our moulds are designed for multiple use and with care should last for many firings.

Dimensions

Makes a heart of approximately 5cm x 4cm and 1.5cm thick.

External mould dimensions are10cmx 9.1cm x 3.1cm.

We recommend a fill weight of 45g, fine frit.

Please note that all our moulds are hand-made and therefore the dimensions may vary slightly from those shown. Mould manufacturers allow a tolerance of up to 2cm. We strongly recommend cutting the glass to the size measured from the actual mould rather than relying solely on the dimensions shown.

Firing Schedule

This schedule is a guideline and you should adjust it to suit your particular kiln, or for different thicknesses of glass. By lowering the temperature to 720°C the piece will shrink less and have a rougher ‘Sugary’ look:

Segment 1:

Rate (°C/hr) – 222

Temp (°C) – 677

Hold – 0:60

 Segment 2:

 Rate (°C/hr) – 333

Temp (°C) – 804

Hold – 0:10

 Segment 3:

 Rate (°C/hr) – 999

Temp (°C) – 482

Hold – 1:20-2:00

Segment 4:

Rate (°C/hr) – 18

Temp (°C) – 427

Hold – 0:00

 Segment 4:

 Rate (°C/hr) – 35

Temp (°C) – 377

Hold – 0:00

Smaller than I thought

Silly me I thought the heart would be 10 x 9

The heart is small - In my opinion you don't need a mould to make one this big and I bought 2 of them
