The kiln should be well ventilated during firing (remove any bungs).
I found the legs a bit fiddly to get straight as I had cut out all the background, but they have fired well, not losing any colour on a 10x10 coaster consisting of 3mm clear tekta topped with 3mm opaque white glass. I put the decal on top and fired to the recommended temp in my Skutt kiln. I would happily use them again.
OK, a bit disappointing compared to the snowman decals. Decal on 2mm whit opaque with crystal clear powder and finished with 3mm clear Tekta. all came out a bit dingy, the red fades to brown, and the brown goes to more of a grey/brown, I can only fire one at a time (firebox 8) at least they were consistent.
RESPONSE FROM WARM GLASS: Hi, these decals are best fired on top or underneath the glass using the recommended schedule, rather than between layers. Please see the decal instructions pdf for more details. WG
Bought lots of these "Cheeky Robins" last year and they work best on 2mm white opaque base with a 3mm clear tekta cap eg sandwich the decal between the glass. On my first full fuse I found the red breast faded to a brownish/red after firing. So on the next Robin decal I fixed this by sprinkling a little opaque red powder over the clear tekta above the Robin's breast which not only boosted the red but gave the finished item more depth. Very popular with my customers so I'm glad these are back in stock.
