Product Information

These powders can be used in a variety of ways to create sparkles inside the glass or as a mica lustre in a fused, blown slumped or lamp worked piece of glass.

Use as a powder, or try mixing with Glastac Glue and apply like paint.

Use mica with inclusion pens or flexi-glass for ultimate controllability.

Mica is a mineral based powder (frequently used in cosmetics). It does not melt at firing temperatures but rather sticks to the molten glass. For best results, use between glass layers.

Great colour, however very clumpy (almost damp) making it hard to sprinkle and impossible to tap off without leaving a mark. - maybe it was a bad batch, but nothing like the video I'm afraid.

Another use!

I also use this as a separator when fusing opal glass jewellery. Mix a little mica powder in water and paint a light wash on to the top surface of some Thinfire paper. Allow to dry and then put the opal glass on top and fire as normal. The mica stops the ceramic fibres sticking to the back of the glass and leaves a nice, clean finish with a hint of a sparkle if you are lucky! I have also tried it on 3mm ceramic fibre paper when kilnforming, it brings a whole new dimension to the underside of the shaped glass.

Superbe couleur, la poudre Mica très intéressante à utiliser en inclusion. Sou poudrer, écraser, étaler avec des pinceaux...produits très créatif.
