Bullseye opalescent sheet glass has an assertiveness and complexity of colour that isn’t matched anywhere. These sheets, when held to light, respond with a fascinating array of complementary hues - like an opal.

Working Notes

Cold characteristics: 

Very slight orange-peel mottling.

Working notes: 

At full fuse, capped or uncapped, the mottling disappears and the colour is consistent, even and pure. At slumping temperatures and low-tack fusing temperatures (1150-1250°F/621-677°C), grey clouding may occur (similar to Steel Blue 0146), especially where contamination from oils and/or cleaner is left behind during the cleaning process. Solution: cap this colour with clear or test for each specific application. The clouding can be erased from an uncapped piece by capping with clear glass and firing to a full fuse.

I love this bright, fresh colour and use it a lot in my work. I make a lot of landscape wall panels and this is the perfect colour for a summer sky. It fires well and is consistent in colour. I use it a lot in conjunction with Spring Green (0126). The colours complement each other well, plus they produce a gorgeous reaction.
