A lovely bright white, but two provisos:

1. This 'Opaque White Opal' is brighter than 'White Opal' (0113) only with REFLECTED light (for example, if you lay it on a table). With TRANSMITTED light (for example, if you hang it in a window) it is greyer than 'White Opal' which makes sense because it is nearly opaque. So, for the brightest white with transmitted light I'd choose 'White Opal' (0113).

2. It behaves differently to other glasses when firing. When I fire a 3mm piece capped with 3mm Tekta using my standard full fuse temperature (804°C), the Opaque White Opal is less pulled in by surface tension than the Tekta or any other glass I have tried, so you get squarer corners than the other classes. So the capping Tekta (which gets rounder corners) does not cover it fully at the corners, and with small pieces the white can even stick out further than the Tekta at the edges. Maybe this is because it contains more lead or something, maybe a different temperature would work better - does anyone know?

To me this is the nicest of all the Whites. It is pure and bright. Definitely recommended.

I adore this colour. It's a beautiful, consistent white that I use as a canvas for so many techniques and it's never let me down. Highly recommended.
