About Dichroic Glass: Dichroic is a multi-layer coating placed on glass using a technical process known as thin film coating. Dichroic glass has a transmitted colour and a completely different reflective colour; these two colours shift depending on the angle of view. The play of light together with its vibrant colour makes dichroic glass a prime tool to add interest to any kiln glass work.
A note about Dichroic on Clear Glass: Dichroic coating on clear glass produces a subtle effect that many artists find appealing. It is difficult to photograph so please be aware that your glass will be essentially clear, with a subtle mix of the transmitted and reflected colours shown in the main image. If you prefer to make the dichroic colours stand out more, simply layer it up with darker glass styles or choose dichroic on black.
Quarter Sheet Sizing: Quarter sheets of textured dichroic glass are a quarter of a circle with a small section of the curved edge removed during the manufacturing process. The area of a textured quarter sheet is around 440 sq cm, which is about the same area as 4.4 10x10cm sheets. See the Dichroic Glass FAQ pdf for more information.
All our glass is COE90, Bullseye Glass compatible and suitable for applications such as glass fusing, glass casting and glass slumping (unless otherwise stated in the description).
